Diets for Roux en Y

Stage 4, days 18 to 45
4 oz food per meal
3 meals per day + hi protien snack if needed



Stage 5
4-6 ounces food per meal
3 meals per day plus
high protien snack if needed



Meats

Lean meats e.g. beef, pork, poultry, fish
Eggs soft boiled or scrambled or egg substitutes
Low fat cheese - mozzarella, alpine lace etc
Smooth peanut butter 1 oz per day

Milk
Light yogurt
sugar free pudding
skim milk or 1%

Fruit
100% fruit juice - dilute with water
Canned or cooked fruit in own juice (no skin or seeds)
Unsweetended applesauce
Oranges
Ripe bananas
Melon

Vegetable
Well cooked vegetables
Vegetable juices
no corn brussel sprouts, cabbage, celery, green beans, peas or fried vegetables

Breads
Mashed beans
well-toasted bread
baked or boilded potatoes (no skin)
white rice
hot cooked cereal made with skim milk or water
dry cereals (Rice Krispies, Corn Flaks, Cheerios)

Oils/Fats
olive, conola, safflower 1 tsp
Light tub margine 1 Tbsp
Fat free mayo, cream cheese, sour cream

Soups
Low fat soups made with allowed ingredients
Cream style soups made w/low fat milk or water

Desserts
Low fat pudding or SF jello

Other
Diet jelly
Slim fast low-carb
